Who Am I? What Do I Do?
I stand in absolute awe at the miracle of life. My wonder and curiosity have only increased over the past 12 years of my immersion in the study of Psychology, Yoga, human movement function, massage and acupuncture.
After completing my first degree in Psychology, I trained as a Yoga teacher with the Devon School of Yoga (DSY, www.devonyoga.com). My personal experience of the truth of the maxim that the body heals itself has led me down the pathway of alternative/ complementary healthcare since. I have been teaching yoga since 2001 and was asked to join the DSY’s teaching staff in 2003.
I am experienced in various forms of Yoga, including Yoga for children and I lead a set of classes around Cardiff (Cardiff University, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama), frequently working with professional dancers, acting students and athletes.
Having graduated with the honours degree in Acupuncture from the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Portsmouth University in Feb 2008, I am now using acupuncture and Yoga in an integrated way. In the field of Chinese Medicine my major interests include
- female reproductive health and infertility
- mental-emotional disorders
- digestive disorders and
- muscular-skeletal problems.
I work to integrate my knowledge and practice into a holistic approach to living.
Being a world adventurer I led and continue to lead a series of workshops around the country and abroad.

ABOUT THE TEACHING STYLE – VINYASA FLOW
Vinyasa Yoga is an evolving form of traditional Hatha Yoga that focuses on integrating breath and movement, awareness and alignment, strength and flexibility, and your practice with your daily life. Originating within the yogic teachings of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and linked to a dynaic dance, asanas (or postures) are connected through the breath for a transformative and balancing effect.
I have been teaching for over 7 years and my style reflects studies in branches of Krishnamacharya’s lineage, from 7 years of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga to studies in Iyengar yoga, as well as teaching in the tradition of the yoga school I have trained with and now teach for – the Devon School of Yoga (www.devonyoga.com).
I am infinitely grateful to all my teachers and the laboratory of my classes with all my student friends who help me to constantly evolve in my practice and in my teaching. Vinyasa style reflects the dance between form and freedom, classical and innovation, pattern and change. The classes are always of mixed ability, but if you are a complete beginner, please read some general suggestions about where to start.
